Eligibility
-
1. Eligible students
Current enrolled students (excluding students on leave of absence and those who have completed all credits towards a bachelor's degree) and students who plan to return to school (However, students planning to return must apply for reinstatement within the first reinstatement application period and obtain approval. If reinstatement is not applied for, approval of a Multidisciplinary Studies major may be rejected.)
-

- Sophomore (2nd year) or higher, who have already acquired 35 or more credits (33 credits or more for students who entered from and after 2016)
- Transfer students from other schools can only apply after completing at least one semester at the university.
When and how to apply
A student can apply through Classnet during January or July, to only one department (major) per time.
A student may check whether the application has been accepted or not though Classnet > Personal Information > General Information menu just prior to the second round course pre-selection period in February/August.
(If a double major, minor major, or Multidisciplinary Studies major is recorded, approval has been granted. If not recorded, it has not been approved.)
However, the final application approval status will be confirmed after February/August 22 for those who have suspended their bachelor degree conferral.
Selection Criteria

Withdrawal from a Multidisciplinary Studies Major
Students who wish to withdraw from the Multidisciplinary Studies major must apply for withdrawal through the student classnet system before the last day of the final semester (classnet → Multidisciplinary Studies-Double-Minor → Multidisciplinary Studies-Double-Minor Status → Withdrawal).
Duration of the Multidisciplinary Studies major
Graduation requirements for both the main major and the Multidisciplinary Studies major must be completed within the allowed term/duration of enrollment. If all requirements are fulfilled, the degree for each major will be awarded concurrently.
Degree Conferment
- A Multidisciplinary Studies major student who has fulfilled all of their main major course requirements for graduation as well as all other general requirements, will be awarded a degree with the name of both their main major and the Multidisciplinary Studies major in accordance with the Academic Regulations.
- An autonomous (free) major student who has fulfilled all of their requirements for the Multidisciplinary Studies major as their main major, as well as all other general requirements for graduation, will be awarded a degree with the name of the Multidisciplinary Studies major in accordance with the Academic Regulations.
Tuition
- If a student is unable to satisfy the number of graduation credits required of their major department and Multidisciplinary Studies major department within eight semesters, the student will be classified as a non-graduate from their ninth semester. In this case, tuition fees will be paid according to the applicable fees for the number of credits undertaken by registration in the student’s first major department.
(If the major is a five-year major, the student will be classified as a non-graduate from the 11th semester.)
- Students who are completing a Multidisciplinary Studies major officially belong to the department they originally entered until graduation. Therefore, even if the student meets requirements for graduation in their 7th semester (including early graduation), in the case of not meeting requirements for the Multidisciplinary Studies major, fees will be determined based on enrollment in the original major (regardless of registration in the department of the Multidisciplinary Studies major).
- In the case that a campus deferred major student chooses a Multidisciplinary Studies major as their main major, the tuition to be paid is applicable to the same amount enrolled as a campus deferred major student.
