ACADEMICS
Before the end of each semester, an announcement is made on the school website, and applications are received in mid January/July. Individual interviews are conducted by the Department (for double major) in early February/August. Successful applicants are announced before the course registration period in mid February/August.
1. Eligible students
Current enrolled students (excluding students on leave of absence and those who have completed all credits towards a bachelor's degree) and students who plan to return to school (However, students planning to return must apply for reinstatement within the first reinstatement application period and obtain approval. If reinstatement is not applied for, approval of the double major may be rejected.)
2. Eligible students
A student can apply through Classnet during January or July, to only one department (major) per time.
A student may check whether the application has been accepted or not though Classnet > Personal Information > General Information menu just prior to the second round course pre-selection period in February/August.
(If a double major, minor major, or convergence major is recorded, approval has been granted. If not recorded, it has not been approved.)
The Department applied to may accept double major students within the scope of 10% to 30% of the quota for their department, for each academic year.
Each department sets their selection criteria through interviews and consideration of grades. This criteria may also include results of practical evaluation depending on the department.
Students who wish to withdraw from a minor, can apply for withdrawal through the student classnet system before the last day of the final semester. (Student Classnet → Convergence, Double, Minor → Convergence, Double, Minor → Status of Completion → Apply for withdrawal)
If a student fails to complete a double major within the allowed enrollment period (8 years maximum, or 10 years maximum for a five-year major), the student will lose eligibility to complete a double major.
Double major students must pass the thesis requirements of the double major department, and complete any necessary field training for graduation.
