Hongik University Central Library supports the university's educational and research goals and activities through the sharing and dissemination of information. It holds approximately 1.4 million domestic and foreign books, serials, and audiovisual materials, while subscribing to 70,000 academic journals, e-journals, and web DBs. In addition to access to books and materials, the Library provides a variety of services to members of Hongik University, including use of reading and study rooms, research and learning support services, user education, and cultural events.
Seoul
Hongik University Law Library consists of law books and specialized resource materials. It holds approximately 70,000 law-related books, periodicals, and non-book materials, while subscribing to electronic resources and web DBs in the law field. It includes a law library reading room, an information search room, study room and laptop reading room, and is open to all members of Hongik University not only law majors.
Seoul
Hongik University Daehangno Library holds books and materials in the field of performing arts. The collection includes approximately 10,000 performing arts books and periodicals, while the library subscribes to both electronic resources and web DBs.
Sejong
Moonjeong Library has been the main library since the opening of the Sejong Campus in March 1989. The library was relocated, expanded and renamed as Moonjeong Library in a newly constructed building (Building F) built in June 1996. It has continued to expand and develop; which currently is 6,365.73㎡(1,926 pyeong) in size with 1,427 reading seats and more than 630,000 books.
The library consists of circulation desk (Building F No. 100), reference reading room, dissertation room, Periodicals Room (Building F No. 201), Multimedia Information Center (Building F No. 302), and General Reading Room (Building C No. 211-1, Building F No. 301), The library provides a pleasant learning environment by installing air conditioning/ heating equipment, air purifiers, and rest area. It also has separate group study rooms for group projects and also has facilities for the disabled.
In particular, Multimedia Information Center is equipped with video, microfilm reader, LCD TV and DVD Set, PC etc., and operates 2 co-video learning centers to help individual learning and facilitate information retrieval by students.
Automated book return machines are installed outside of the library for the users’ convenience when returning borrowed books. (Building A 1st floor) Also, the library has a fully computerized system and information retrieval system is jointly operated with Seoul Campus by connecting the database between the two Campuses online.
