The micro-major is a specialized major providing a curriculum for developing customized skills needed by those hoping to enter upcoming future industries and fields. Existing courses are modularized into smaller scale educational goals, enabling students to access specific components of a program to complete their desired education.
1. Eligible students
Current enrolled students (excluding students on leave of absence and those who have completed all credits towards a bachelor's degree) and students who plan to return to school (However, students planning to return must apply for reinstatement within the first reinstatement application period and obtain approval. If reinstatement is not applied for, approval of a micro major may be rejected.)
2. Eligibility
Students who have enrolled in 2 or more regular semesters and have earned 33 or more credits (requirements for completion of first-year)
A student can apply through Classnet during the designated time period in January or July each year, only once per time.
A student may check whether the application has been accepted or not though Classnet > Personal Information > General Information menu just prior to the second round course pre selection period in February/August. (If a double major, minor major, Multidisciplinary Studies major, or micro major is recorded, approval has been granted. If not recorded, it has not been approved.)
However, the final application approval status will be confirmed after February/August 22 for those who have suspended their bachelor degree conferral.
The number of students accepted may be restricted depending on class conditions in the department of the micro major.
If a subject acquired before applying for a micro major is the same as one required by the department of the micro major when applying, the student will be given recognition for that subject.
Students undertaking a micro major must graduate within the same number of years as regular students (8 years for 4 year programs, or 10 years maximum for 5 year programs).
A student completing a micro major officially belongs to the department that they were originally enrolled in until graduation, and their tuition is applicable to the amount required by their original department. In the case that a student does fulfill requirements for graduation within 8 semesters, from the 9th semester they will be classified having exceeded the amount of semesters and must pay tuition according to the number of credits they have registered for.
