This system enables a student to obtain a minor by completing courses in another department other than the department enrolled in.
(This system is not the same as acquiring two degrees as in a double major)
1. Eligible students
Current enrolled students (excluding students on leave of absence and those who have completed all credits towards a bachelor's degree) and students who plan to return to school (However, students planning to return must apply for reinstatement within the first reinstatement application period and obtain approval. If reinstatement is not applied for, approval of a minor may be rejected.)
2. Eligibility
Students in their second year or higher, and have a B0 (3.00) or above grade average for the previous year (previous two semesters)
A student can apply through Classnet during January or July, to only one department (major) per time.
A student may check whether the application has been accepted or not though Classnet > Personal Information > General Information menu just prior to the second round course pre selection period in February/August.
(If a double major, minor major, or convergence major is recorded, approval has been granted. If not recorded, it has not been approved.)
The number of students accepted for the minor/ double major may be limited according to the class conditions of the selected department.
Each year and semester, students who applied for minor majors must complete a certain number of credits (minimum 21 credits) or more among subjects in the department. On graduation, students can receive a minor qualification if the average grade of the designated subjects is 2.0 or higher.
Students who complete their courses after applying for a minor, should submit a ‘confirmation of minor qualification’ (classnet printout) to the department of minor with their transcript after final semester grades have been published.
If the requirements for graduation from a minor are not met, the minor must be withdrawn in order to graduate with a major. When withdrawing from a minor, the credits acquired from the minor department are recognized as <General Elective> credits and included in the total credits for graduation.
If a subject acquired before applying for a minor is the same as one required by the minor department when applying for the minor, the student will be given recognition for that subject.
Minor applicants must graduate within the same enrollment year as general students(8 years, 10 years for a five-year system).
Students who are completing minor majors belong to the department they originally entered until graduation, so the amount of tuition is set based on the department they entered, and if they fail to graduate after eight semesters, they will be classified as early semester and will pay tuition according to the credits they apply for.
Students who wish to withdraw from a minor, can apply for withdrawal through the student classnet system before the last day of the final semester.
